Miscellanea

Just a couple of miscellaneous facts about myself. The rest is either in my contact page or in my curriculum vitae.

• Computer engineering
• Open source philosophy: it's getting a lot of fuss these days, you now?
• Web design focused on accesibility: because, one day, "the web" as we know will be the one and only interface to electronic stuff
• Theoretical physics: just the abstract-mind blowing-fun stuff, not the maths
• Science fiction: Asimov, Clarke, Gibson, et al. hate Bradbury though
• Good cinema: so many titles!, Mulholland Dr. comes to my mind right now.
• Photography: amateur level only for now, but it's on my lifetime TODO list
• Plain old philosophy: the closest way to trascend this world, if any
• Music: symphonic/progressive rock, blues, smooth jazz. Bands: Rhapsody, Dreamtheater, Nightwish
• Women: yup, I'm just a plain old heterosexual guy

• Software patents: those are the more pathetic ones, but I actually hate all kind of patents because they stall progress
• Microsoft realm: poor Microsoft, open source is slowly tearing them apart. I almost feel bad for them. Almost...
• Hollywood cinema: $40M for cute-face actors, $40K for writers. I guess you pay what you get
• Racism: nothing new to say about this that you wouldn't know

• Sports: no sport has caught my attention yet. watch some guys throwing balls is just plain boring to me
• Politics: can't live with it, can't live without it. right?
• Religion: why was it invented in the first place?

It's all about communication really, the language is just a tool. I dream about the day when language will be an obsolete word but, for now, english is just the best tool that fits the purpose. And time to spend translating my page to spanish is certainly something I don't have right now. Besides, english is not that bad.
